Exchange and networking are essential cornerstones of scientific research: For this reason, every two years scientists from all over the world travel to Bremen to present and discuss current topics and results from logistics research at the "LDIC - Dynamics in Logistics".
At this year's conference, which took place from February 13th to 15th, more than 100 participants followed the invitation of "LogDynamics", a research cluster which includes ISL as well as other renowned research institutes in Bremen. As it was the case in the previous conferences, the field of „Maritime Logistics“ was a prominent part of the 7th edition of LDIC. In her keynote Prof. Elen Twrdy from the University of Ljubljana outlined major trends and challenges the maritime industry currently faces.
On the second conference day, ISL managing directors Prof. Burkhard Lemper and Prof. Frank Arendt moderated sessions in the field of "Maritime Logistics" to give young researchers the opportunity to present their work. "The diversity of topics this year has shown what exciting issues maritime logistics research is dealing with, even in times of digitalisation", summarised Burkhard Lemper.
In his presentation about „coordination in the maritime transport chain“, ISL associate Patrick Specht presented current findings and future directions for maritime researchers.
