The 9th GSTTA Plenary Meeting was successfully held

On July 3, 2025, the 9th Plenary Meeting of the Global Shipping Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance") was successfully held in Naples, Italy, in a combined online and offline format. The conference, hosted by SRM, aimed to promote information exchange and sharing among Alliance members and to collectively explore how sustainable investments can drive the green transformation and high-quality development of ports and shipping industries amidst increasingly complex geopolitical backgrounds.

The meeting was attended by representatives from various members including the Shanghai International Shipping Institute (China), the Academy of Transportation Sciences (China), the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (Germany), the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (Egypt), PolyU Maritime Data and Sustainable Development Centre (Hong Kong, China), the University of Piraeus (Greece), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), CETMO-CENIT (Spain), Korea Maritime Institute (South Korea), National University of Singapore (Singapore), Drewry (UK), Dalian Maritime University (China), World Maritime University (Sweden), S&P Global (USA), and VesselsValue (USA).

Professor Alaa Morsy, Chairman of the Alliance, Massimo Deandreis, General Manager of SRM, and Mario Mattioli, President of Federazione del Mare delivered welcome speeches. Liu Zhengyu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Alliance Secretariat, presented the work report on behalf of the Secretariat. Member representatives engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as green port investments, maritime green infrastructure, carbon reduction challenges, and green corridor development. They also deliberated on the future development of the Alliance and optimization of cooperation mechanisms.
